Homes listed for sale at the Palm Valley Golf Course in Las Vegas
Palm Valley is the longest and most difficult course at Golf Summerlin. Most players can hit a driver all day on the mature, gently undulating fairways, but the deceptively rolling bent grass greens make every two-putt difficult. Many of the fairways are lined with pine trees, and the course is also tightened by 68 bunkers. four par 5s of varying lengths welcome golfers to Palm Valley (par 72, 6,824 yards, rating 71.6/123). The longest two require focus and open and close the round. The first hole is 537 yards long; 534 yards are played in the 18th. Since the final hole is a slight right dogleg with water to the right from the tee to the green and an out-of-bounds left, accuracy is important. Left-of-fairway bunkers also play a role, and the green is further protected by bunkers surrounding it.
The most challenging of Golf Summerlin’s three courses, Palm Valley opened in 1989. Fairways are undulating and greens are rolling on the mature layout. Palm Valley, which is located in the posh Summerlin community and is surrounded by mountains, is close to the bustling Las Vegas Strip but feels like a world away.
