Own a little bit of Italy with this newly listed home in Las Vegas
After returning from their trip to Italy, a Las Vegas couple decided to recreate a portion of the picturesque country in their backyard located at 15 Bright Hollow Court, Las Vegas, Nevada 89135.
A section of their one-of-a-kind mansion looks like a charming Italian street, complete with cafe tables, storefronts, fountain, and cobblestones. The 9,800 square foot home on half an acre that was built by Lara and David Stone, who are now divorced, is being sold for $6.5 million. Even though the couple does not come from an Italian family, they were moved to create the street scene after spending a lot of time in the country and falling in love with it. During the construction of their house, their version of the street, which they call Via Di Pietra, was created more than a decade ago. It took almost two years to finish the renovations.
Storefronts were painted on the walls and real windows were positioned in front to give the space an even more authentic feel. A cobblestone floor was laid. After their son Jared, a “restaurant” with a table outside was named Ristorante Jaredino. Sliding glass doors that lead into the basement are included with the restaurant’s windows. Chez Andre, which is named after the Stones’ second son Andy, is a wine and cheese shop. A “chocolate shop” named Allison Cioccolato is opposite. It contains the wine bottles that the couple has consumed over time.
In honor of their children’s birthdays, the street numbers on each storefront are displayed. The home also has a European feel to it, with dark wood fixtures, marble and granite floors, and arches. In addition, the house has a basement with a wine cellar and a home theater with leather seating. The Stones have made the decision to sell their house now that their children have moved away and are attending college.
